W3C Validation Part II - 3/11/2002 11:52:25
Good morning everyone. For those of you who missed the first thread on W3C Validation, you can find it here...

http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12035

An important upcoming change with AOL is going to force many of us to validate our sites against the W3C standards. Read more about that here...

http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=02/03/08/1957252&mode=thread

For those of you who have been skirting the issue of validation, now is the time to hunker down and study the validation requirements and get your sites in shape!

Want to find out what the Internet Gurus have to say about this? Read more here...

I just downloaded the latest build of this mozilla/netscape and my site actually looked right in it. Could this be a "good" version of Netscape?

Hmmm, not much comment on the AOL issue. I'm concerned. I'd be willing to bet that a sizable portion of visitors to your site are coming from AOL. Look at your stats and visits from Virginia, those are your AOL users.

Anyway, just wanted to shake a few things up and see what everyone's thoughts are on this and possibly what changes you'll be making to appeal to the AOL 8.0 users.

You can get the latest release of mozilla here...

Wow! This would/will definitely make things interesting (read "terribly hard").

"The only thing that might delay -- not stop, just delay -- AOL's change from Explorer to a Mozilla-based browser is allowing time for some of AOL's largest and most important "partner sites" to do away with any Explorer-specific features they have been using in place of W3C standards."

As if accessibility testing was not complicated enough. If aol does switch, and from the above quote it seems they will (of course another paragraph later on says it's not set in stone ) testing for accesibility will be whole new game. AOL users are a huge part of my users (and I imagine the same is true for many others as well).

Tony
