Tables and spacing appears different once published - 8/10/2001 20:58:00
Help! Newbie here- when I am putting content within my tables,it appears to all fit on a single line- but when I publish it and view it on the website sometimes my text will be on two lines because it could not fit within the table on one line. I am confused because when I am working in the table, it appears to have plenty of spacing leftover- Thank you for all your help in advance!

I can't give you a specific URL to see my problem, because everytime this happens, when I view it on the website, I then have to go back into Front Page and insert more spaces so that the text will not be on two lines, - even though in FrontPage it will look like I have adequate spaces...I will give you my URL, in case you can discern something from the tables- but I am not sure if that will help. I am in the process of converting all the tables to more uniform sizing- I inherited this job from someone else- and did not set this website up. (that's my disclaimer!) http://www.amherst-depot.com

You say that it looks ok in FP, but when you publish it, the spacing alters?Perhaps it may have something to do with the resolution of your monitor? Else before you publish your final version try previewing it in your browser, just to make sure that everything looks fine. Also check your page in the HTML editor and check for the alignment tabs and any un-neccessary spacings. Hope this helps. If none of these work send the source code to me and I shall have a look at it for you. ------------------
