xterradane -> Error (3/14/2002 15:27:51)

I don't know much about this portion, and don't know if this is where it needs to be posted either! I am getting an error on some pages- I only know this from the statistics page. How do I find out what is causing the error? I tested everything before loading and it works part of the time. The site is www.fit-jobs.com. It's on the Registration page and I think it's user error. I have server side and client side validation. So, I really don't know what is going on. It works sometimes and not others!?! Any ideas on how to find out what is causing this and how to find other errors in the future and what is causing them.

Looks to me like it's at godaddy's end. Have you checked with them?

Do you mean the hosting company?

Where did you get that error from? What is going on? I am so confused? Should I just contact my host company? What do I say?

(an assortment of feelings-mostly confused, we need a smiley for that!)

xterradane -> RE: Error (3/15/2002 13:01:56)

I just talked to the hosting company and they checked their server logs and said there was nothing wrong on them (of course). They also said it must have been a fluk that you got that message. So, am I to assume it is in my coding that is causing these errors. I know I can do error handling for website and database errors, but don't know how it works really. Can anyone explain the basics and how this will help me to make my site better.

Thank you so much in advanced

Anyone know where I can get my black & white TV fixed?

PBailey -> RE: Error (3/15/2002 16:48:38)

I'm also getting the webmaster message.

tarheel -> RE: Error (3/17/2002 3:41:26)

I'm getting the error message too. This sounds like a very simple iseue to me; if you're getting a host-generated error message, obviously something is wrong server-side. If they are telling you it's not them, then you need a new host. if it's truly not them, they should be able to steer you to solving the problem yourself. In any case, they don't sound too helpful.

But, on the other hand, I do have a question: you say:

I only know this from the statistics page.

I do not understand what you mean.

Part of the time? What's it doing the other times? I'm confused. This could be your problem... you loaded a site that only works part of the time?

xterradane -> RE: Error (3/18/2002 11:23:16)

I meant that when I tested it before loading the entire site worked fine. However, recently I have been getting "failed request" on my statistics for a few of the pages and did not know if it were the host company or something the user was entering in to get the error, because the errors are on form pages.

I see what has happened!!! There was an inadvertant period at the end of the link you guys were clicking. Here is the real thing: www.fit-jobs.com

caywind -> RE: Error (3/19/2002 11:37:41)

Did you get a bunch of errors about 08:10, all on register page? if so then it's okay, I did them on purpose. If not then, , R there any logs?
