why won't my database work? - 3/14/2002 20:18:02
here is the site. www.saskadsa.ca/saskads1.asp If you go there, click on "place ad", and place some kind of ad, hit sumbit, for some reason, there is no confimation page. Next, if you goto "home", then click "automotive" and try to search for the ad it comes up as no records found. At on point in time, I had the confirmation page show up, and it would display they results fine, but I changed a few things and it now longer does this. Why?

It doesn't look like your form is submitting the results to your DB OR your results page is not querying correctly to display your records. Open you database and see if records that you have added are showing up, if they are then it's probably a query problem on your results page. Just a thought.

Its hard to say what is happening without seeing the design. It is submitting to the same page, some processing should occur here. Does any asp script exist above the <html> tag? §þððk¥ Database / DRW Q & A VP-ASP Shopping cart Spooky Login

I made my own Query for the database, and chose options>send to other. is this right? Also, you've seen how the form looks, now is there a special code that i have to enter to be able to have two form fields, for the same column. For example: chooe what year? from(drop box) to(drop box) also, chameleon said to open the database, how do i do that, apperently i don't have a program that will open and .mdb file.

SPOOKY, you said "it is submitting to the same page". Well, it shouldn't be, i have the DRW on a differant page called auto_results.asp. Is this the sending problem, maybe?

To open the database you would just use ms access. When I was on the site it was sumbitting to the auto_results.asp page so I think the send to part is working.

Not that I'm aware of. That's not to say that there isn't another way but I don't know about it if there is. You could always try a DRW that displayed all records in this database table, maybe that would help pinpoint wether it was a connection problem or a query problem.
