Web name change - 3/19/2002 14:47:06
Hi,

I have a large FrontPage 2000 web at www.kissimmee-us192.com.

Everything was working fine untill I decided to do a 'Spring Clean' on the site.

I copied the web to another machine and culled many unwanted pages and graphics etc.
I also changed the name of the Web's outer folder. I guess, thus changing the name of the web. Copied it back to my main machine and published. Got the old, merge contents (?)but said overwrite structure (or whatever it says)

Now, when I publish it seems to think I am another user and will replace and remove files etc. But won't update Navigation properties.

I thought about wiping the site and re-publishing... My IHP is not being at all forthcomming with information on how to do this. He did say that if I access with an FTP client I would wipe the extensions. Yet if I login to the web live in FP. I can't just select evrything and delete it (?)

Is there a setting file I can delete to make FP think that my new web is 'the' web or is there an easy(ish) way to wipe a web?

Thanks

caywind

Isn't it file-->publish-->all files?
Here's a bug but I don't think it's you...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q196115

or this one...

If you have a spare spot to park the web
quote:

you might try this procedure on a copy

<spellcheck> </spellcheck>

Thanks,

I have tried - Publish all files - but it doesn't remove the web on the server just publishes all my local files.

When it does it gives a username as the publisher, it never did this before and the Nav structure stays the same.

I will check out the links.

Thanks
