Using <TITLE> as a string - 3/25/2002 15:14:48
Hi,

Is it possible to use the content of the Title tag as a string so I can subsequently use it in my page?

For example:
The text in the Title tag is:
<TITLE>MyPage</TITLE>

Later in the page I would like to place the text "MyPage" into a table. Can that be done? I would supose that this is possible with JavaScript, or something similar?

Thanks

Been thinking about this and the only way I can think to do it would take waaaaaaay longer than just typing the words.

Maybe if I knew more about what you are trying to accomplish it would help.

It can be done via JS, Im just trying to find an example how its done.
In the meantime - Why? :)

From memory, its
<script>
document.write(document.title)
</script>

Why?

Because I want to include a title on every page. So that when you are at the home page the title of the page appears at the top of the page. And if you link from there to a page with the title "something" something appears on the top part of the page.
This way the user always knows where he/she is, and I don't have to type it twice for every page.
On the other hand it is good to know you can do something like that.

Thanks,

If you're creating a navigation structure in FP you could just insert a "text" page banner. As long as the page were in the nav structure the title would appear where you inserted the banner.

ah reckon, tharfo'e ah's, ah reckon.
