Web "Awards" - 3/26/2002 16:26:23
Hi..........

I've read on several occasions that it's a "plus" to get a Web Site Award, (although I have to say I don't see how it would be afactor for me in choosing/using a web site). So I found a site claiming to be "Zee Best" (the Golden Web Award for 2002-2003), applied, and was "chosen!!" to display the award.

Now I'm not being sarcastic here, but while to me it's obviously another business out there in web land ....................is it worth "posting" such an award on my site or does that make me look stupid (just another fall guy/patsy)???

Are there web "awards" that do make good sense?

Opinions please!

Thank you!

Personally I do not think awards are worth putting on a site.
I have ran my site through a couple of the sites like Golden Web Award and I think any body with a URL will win. I also think that displaying the awards are kind of cheesy.

On a side note:
About a year ago I built a website for a small club and got an award with the site. Then the President of the club wrote an article to some trade magazines which ran the article. Good free advertising :)

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
I'm dying to know as to the avitar. You look like I did last summer after a season of painting the house on the scaffolding.
