Critique Please! - 3/26/2002 18:42:53
Hello -

My website, www.FictionDB.com , has been up for a couple of years, but we are about to enter the world of subscriptions: charging folks to access certain parts of the site.

Before the Spooky Login takes effect, we would love some feedback on overall design, navigation, etc. The romance section is the most developed and the one we would like critiqued.

Any comments would be much appreciated!

Kelly

Hmmm, I typed "king" in the search box and got a "Not found", but when I used the alpha I find Steven - I think the search function needs a little work?

The overall design is good. I like the color change for each section.

When I was on the home page, I clicked on FAQs, and got the RomanceDB FAQs. Is there a general FAQ section?

Very nice site, Kelly

I like the use of color, and your graphics are very clean and make good use of page space.

I might make better use of the space below your navigation structure to highlight something. A book of the week or featured author... something that adds to the content but does not detract from the overall feel of the site.

Also, I played around with my monitor settings, and the color of your nav. buttons can get pretty dark with a little tweaking. It looks fine under my default settings, but a lighter blue or a lighter contrast color might make it more monitor friendly.

Have you thought about adding a monthly newsletter or something similar?

Very nice...
