Waxaholic -> Problem converting a folder into web for permissions... (4/9/2001 16:29:00)

I have an existing site and am trying to convert a folder to a SubWeb so that i may use permissions on it. I have done this in the past with no problem. I am using a template from Outfront by the way. After creating a folder named 'members', i went into the folders directory in FP2000 and right clicked on the 'member' folder and then clicked on convert to web (SubWeb). Then i get an error like this:

Server error:Unable to create a disk-based web at "e:\SSWeb\WebSiteOutfront\Web2\members" because it's parent web would not be a disk-based web.

Has anyone had this problem before. It seems to only happen in this template. I went to my old site and created a new folder and converted it to web(SubWeb) with no problem. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Wax

Spooky -> RE: Problem converting a folder into web for permissions... (4/10/2001 21:03:00)

Have you tried creating a sub web and then importing all the required files?

Got it. I do not know if this was what FP2000 wanted but i tried it anyhow. I opened FP2000 and used the import wizard to bring my existing site in. Then i was able to convert my 'members' folder to a Subweb for permissions.

Thanks,
