words in table - 4/3/2002 14:28:57
I'm new to front page and have some questions about words/text in a table ?
Let's say I have 50 words to put in a table, do I make a 2 cell table and put all 50 words into 1 cell (I don't want table cells or borders to show) or do I start the 50 words in cell 1 and then overflow into cell 2 ? thanks.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but there's no such thing as overflow unless you do it manually.

Normally you'd have them in the same cell, but it depends on the look you want for the layout of the page. Check here for some good info on this... http://www.outfront.net/tutorials_02/fp_techniques/tables_intro.htm

As a beginner (and quite possibly for the rest of your html coding life) it's a good idea to put everything into a table on your page.

It keeps formatting simple, and attractive. Just try to think of the table as an outline for your page. Place a header graphic into the top cel of the table, then follow with links and content in whatever order or style you wish.

When I was starting out I would create a table with 3 rows and 5 colums to start out. Then I would merge and split cels as necessary to make the content on my page fit where I wanted it.

You can split text into as many or as few cels as you like, it depends on how you want the page to look.

BTW, LB - that is a great tutorial link... but aren't they all great at OutFront?
