eeyore9 -> yes size does matter (4/6/2002 21:31:04)

Just a quick question to which the answer is simple and obvious. Does anybody know of a way to decrease the deifference in the size and postion of text in the design view VS. the preview? Its driving me nuts clicking back and forth to see if things are where I put them. I looked around, but can't seem to find the answer! :) Thanks

Hi,

I never use preview. I just keep a browser open to view the end results of edits.

Hi Brian,
A question for you. I've found that anything I develop on the computer I've built my website with always looks good since the files pull from my hard drive, even when I'm on the Internet (using FP 98.) I clear my cache/temporary and history files, but it still pulls from the hard drive. I've come to check my site through site viewers such as www.anybrowser.com or through my other computer to get a totally objective viewpoint of my site.

Is there a view I'm missing as to checking my website from the same computer I've built it on? It gets tedious jumping from one computer to another.

Hi,

Sure is install I.E., Netsape 4.x and Netscape 6.x, Opera and Mozolla (early here on the spelling ;)). I would always view through these browsers. I then go another step. I run at an extremly high resolution. When I am on a final viewing I bump resolution down to 800X600 with LARGE fonts (depends on OS but under display properties settings, advanced tab). Now I now longer go down to 640X480, I used to up to around six months ago though, as my log files tell me I have around 2% at that resolution, I have to draw the line somewhere and supporting NN 4.X is the bottom or lowest common denominator.

I also just bought an old MAC from a buddy so I can see what it looks like truly. Big difference of font sizes being displayed.
