_gail -> Reveal tags (4/9/2002 11:01:51)

When viewing a page using Reveal Tags, can the tags themselves be deleted in normal view, or and this only be done in html view? I've tried, with no success.

Thanks, Gail

Hello Gail,

I do not believe you can acually edit the tags in the normal view this way. However when you click on one of them and highlight it, you can switch to html view and the same tag will be highlighted. Its so close to what you are looking for you can almost taste it!

Yes they can be deleted in normal view. With the Reveal Tags option on, position your cursor in front of the tag and use your delete key. Or, you can postion your cursor behind the tag and use your backspace key. Either way will work.

Almost forgot to add that if you delete a tag that you realize you should not have deleted, just use the Ctrl + z and that will undo the deletion.

I'm sorry, there is one tag that I have not been able to delete with the Reveal Tags option on and that is the <p> tag. I will toggle the Reveal Tags option off, position my cursor in front of the paragraph <p> and then hit the backspace key. I would then either add two Soft Returns <br><br> or I might have wanted the paragraph to merge with the one before it and not put anything there.
