Proforma Recruitment Website... - 4/10/2002 9:28:45
Hi there, thanks for taking time to read this. I've been doing Frontpage for 14 months now, mostly doing websites for my own recruitment business, that have been reviewed on here before.

I've just done a 'proforma' recruitment website and would appreciate any criticism/comments you might have. It uses the following techniques that I have learned at outfront:

1. Include pages
2. DRW results
3. Search forms
4. no_mac_jack loonynav for the DRW.
5. Spooky Diet and *some* ASP and SQL coding.

There's a secure back end admin section where you can add/amend/delete vacancies. I've posted up a few test jobs to give the database something to return. They come up in the search results, but the latest vacancies are always displayed in the bottom right hand 'hot jobs' panel.

Any comments/criticisms gratefully received...

My initial impression is "too blue." How 'bout throwing in a different color or two for contrast?

I think I would do something to make your title, "Network 7 Recruitment" stand out a bit more. It just kind of blends in with the rest of the page.

I like the layout. Your db search seems to work just fine, as far as I can tell. You've done a great job on this site.

Agreed. Under Hot Links and Featured Sectors, I would use photographic images for the table or table cell backgrounds and dump the bright blue (looks nice under the drop downs). Or a grid, or #FFFFCC or something. It's a really nice site, very impressive, but it's a bit blank with the blues.

I'm not really sure why it's not working, but visually, for me, it isn't. Maybe something more exciting in the header, or... ?

Well done though, it's excelelnt for functionality and layout!
