I have used the marquee feature before and want to again but it's greyed out. I have tried insert to component and tried the icon on the tool bar. how do I get it back without reinstalling? this question seems to baffle the experts.

It sounds like you have your compatibility set for Netscape. This is a feature NN does not like.

go to Tools>Page Options>Compatibility tab and check to see what is there. You can change it to IE only or Custom, and the Marquee feature should then be available. Just remember, any NN users to your site will not see it as you intend.
