It's nice and simple, colours are good.

There's no copyright which seems like a huge mistake, and it's normal to have a bio or artists statement on a site. Other than that, not much to say. It's probably too simple for my taste, so I'll bow out with just those points.

Hi Robert,

Nice looking site! Are you going to add a few more pages regarding the artist and/or how to contact him or purchase work? Good Job!

Thank you very much for your input!
This is the basic layout. No one has seen it but you folks. I try not to compete with the artists work and keep it very simple.

I'm in the process of watermarking and registering the photos of the paintings.
I just finished optimizing them...This is just a small sample. He has about 50 more for me work over and insert. I ran out of server space and now have to upgrade. Some of the photos used as much as 450kb's. I've got them down to 35 to 75kb's, which is still very large.
I have quite a bit of work yet on the artists bios, he has won quite a few awards here in California, but is not know outside of our state, I must gather all of the newspaper clippings and writeups and arrange them in a coherent form, and scan them in (I hope)!

I wanted to get some input from you folks before I got buried in work that I may end up deleting! (learned the hard way)

Although I may not use every suggestion given in the forum... I have found that, the input from all of you, which are kind enough to respond, to be very valuable. I pay close attention to every word!

Thank you Bri!

And Thank you Lee, for your gracious remarks!

Regards, Your unmet friend
Robert

I like the site a lot! I think that art is missing a valuable tool in the Internet... or maybe the public isn't using it like they should. More "unknowns" should be able to find a voice on the WWW.

I think if it were me, I would create a homepage with links to artist bios, contact info, the slide show, and maybe one for upcoming displays or art shows that may feature his work.

I like the simple layout... maybe throw in a splash of green or red somewhere, just to freshen it up a bit?

Great idea, Bobby!
I think that I will change the slide show from index.html to slide.html and build a hame page as you say and designate it as the index.
As I'm not an artist, I'm wondering just where an what red and/or green to throw... I don't know just exactly what would be appropriate.
Got any ideas on that?

Thanks very much for your input!
Regards, Robert

OK, I've made the upgrades to the site as you all suggested above!
I've pretty well covered everything except for a future shows page...

All of your suggestions made a great improvement in my eyes!

Now, I guess it's up to you as to whether you think this will work or not...

Greatful thanks to all of you that have taken the time to offer help...

Regards, Your unmet friend, Robert

Oh, yea that space in the middle of the index page is for his photo...
