First of all if this is your first website and if you have FP extensions on your server you should probably publish and not ftp.

If you need to ftp just make sure you send up every file you actually use in your web. Your images, your pages etc. Not knowing what is in your web it is pretty hard to tell you exactly what to ftp. You could ftp everything in your web but there are probably things in there you don't need that would just take up space on the server.

HI,

whats an fp extension

These are loaded on the host's server. It depends on your host. If it is an NT/Win 2K server odds are that they are loaded. Apache server also can handle them. Server extensions are for the FP "bots". There are different kinds of FP bots include, forms, DBs and more. You can use the following URL to check your server for these. Just plop in your domain name and leave the port set to 80 (default).

Yes. In FP you have an icon at the top (actually you have a bunch ;))that is a "publish" icon. When you are ready to push your site out (what you use FTP for) just click on that icon. It will popup another box. Type in the URL to your site. You will be prompted for a username and password, your host provided this to you probably through an email during the intial setup.
