Hi,

I have a page full of links and I would like to assist the users in making informed choices. What I would like to do, is to provide a brief description of the link when you place your mouse on the link. Example: -- (link) Address Standardization -- (description) Ad hoc or as part of an application, cleanse and standardize addresses and assign geocodes. When the mouse is over the link, I want to show the definition of the attached page. Can this be done in FrontPage. I thought mouseovers were the key, but they didn't work the way I wanted them to work.

Hi,

Use a title tag. Title tag is just like an alt tag but can contain more charectors. Also, I forget whom, mentioned a few months back Overlib. I did a fast search and here is the best example I could find for you (I think this would be better than a title tag)...

Arlene, I don't know what a alt tag or a title tag is, but I know that if you highlight the text that is the link, right click, go to hyperlink properties. When the Edit Hyperlinks box opens, in the upper right corner is "screen tips". That is were to put your descriptions.

Thanks for your reply. I found what your were describing in FP 2002. At work, I use FP 2002, so I'll check for that feature tomorrow. I'm always happy to learn something new.

At work I use frontpage 2000, not 2002.

The directions are for 2002, but I would think 2000 does the same thing. I just don't know how. Good luck, MomX4

There is no such tag as "Title" - title and alt are both attributes of the a tag. The alt attribute is required and is the provide textual representation of images for seeing impaired visitirs. The title atrribute is to do what Arlene wants...

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who provided a solution to my problem.

MomX there isn't a tool tip in FP 2000. However, if you use the Title attribute in the Anchor tag, you will it a similar result.
