text box mouse overs - 9/14/2001 20:49:00
Question: On most site when I run the mouse over a link, but or photo, a small text box pops up and give a short description or explaination. How can I do this with Front Page?

Images and different displayable items have an attribute called "alt". In FrontPage you can assign that a value by clicking "picture properties" and looking under the "General" tab.Hyperlinks do not ususally pop up a description unless it is part of an image or something. You can make that happen, but not with FrontPage, you'd need to manually add in a JavaScript to do that for a text hyperlink.

I also believe you can use title="" as an attribute (Just place it where you would put the alt="" attribute). Works on text and images.Brian ------------------ Work hard, play fair, stay sane

Actually for a text link, you just need to add in the attribute 'title' inside the a tag. This is viewable in IE, not in NN4, and I am unsure about NN6.The new FP2002 will do this in the hyperlink dialog box where it says screen tips.
