Please take a look - 5/5/2002 16:59:04
Hi how r ya.
I was hoping that some of you could take a look at my little site. I have been so busy working on getting the DB for this site up and running I haven't given much attention to the look of it. Please click around and tell me what you think. Don't mind the DATA for the listings - it's all test data for now.
I'v had a real hard time working with the PINK and BLACK logo - if someone has any suggestions - i'd love to hear them.

Thanx alot.

I took a look yesterday... I can sure sympathize with you on the colors in that logo! I can see why you used pink on the text and on hover for the links, but it is distracting. On looking again today, I think it'd be best to keep all your regular text to black (like the address line) and not use pink anywhere on the site except for the logo.

Here's an example of using teal to ground the pink. www.rubyvalley.com/howell.gif
(ignore the quality-I overcompressed) If you wanted to do a look like this, you can use a table with the background set to a teal color, then another table below it set to black. Put a transparent gif in each one and set the height of the gif to how high you want the table to be (ie. 20px; 1px). Instead of using white text in a table, if the page background is white make sure the text is off-white so you don't get penalized by search engines.

I'd like to see Arial or Verdana (like you used in the banner) instead of Times New Roman for the text. Also, some of the links are changing sizes on mouseover.

The writeup2.jpg on the home page would be a smaller file size as a gif, but would be better for search engines (and even quicker loading) if it were simply text.

The real estate search is working great.

Hey Linda

Thank you so much for taking the time out to look and make a suggestion - i didn't see much hope for this web site - Do you think the teal DOES IT for this site. I just don't know. The only color I felt was suited was the grey. BLAH to that logo!!!!!
The client is VERY prissy and seems to like the 'plainness' of the site - i had made some cool buttons and mouseover effects and she didn't want that *shrugs*.

If anyone else out there has any suggestions - please help.

Purely a personal preference but Times Roman is my least favorite font. I would like to see it with arial through out and not a mixture of font.

That logo is actually kind of cool. But....it is definitly a challenge to design a site around it
