School District Site - 5/6/2002 16:55:05
Okay I created this site about a year ago from scratch. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

FYI I am adding a interactive Menu as soon as people will get off their but and send the money. The menu is from AllWebMenus at likno.com. YOu might want to check it out.

I got lost in the pop up window, had to resize and got lost. Keep it a little more simple.

Hi

I got a tad lost too with the navigation - if there are deep links on the site it's sometimes handy to have something like this:
Home>Name of Dept/School>Calendar>Athletics, with all 3 being links - can be a hassle to set up initially but allows you to know exactly where you are and how to get around.

Best of luck with the site.

Cheers

Very Nice design but confusing to navigate.
When I visited the elementary sites I kept getting popups that had a 404 errors

JemperLynn,

Silsbee...I'm an old Buna Cougar and Kirbyville Wildcat myself. Small world!

I love the concept and the colors, but I have to agree with everyone else, the navigation is a bit tough. I think you could keep the same look and feel, but shrink down the left navigation some.

Also, 'Andy' had a good idea with the drill-down links. Maybe a Site Map would help visitors find information quickly???

Nice site though, very informative.

SuperConductor:

Is there a javascript for an easy drill down menu? Or, bread crumbs as I've heard it refered to before.

Thanks, if you see this?

JemperLynn: I agree with what everyone is saying. You can see the vast amount of good work you have put into your site. What they are saying will really make a difference to your web surfers.

tterrifc,

I'm not sure that the Drill Down could be handled strictly by JavaScript...at least not without some assistance.

I have done 'drill-downs' using ASP...it does take quite a bit of organization and is usually better if it can be database driven.

FrontPage provides 'limited' functionality into this, but is not dynamic enough to support a lot of levels.

Unfortunately, I don't know of an individual script that could provide you with what you are looking for.

Thanks SuperConductor, I will go to work on it from the ASP aspect.

I am a teacher myself and specifically like your Links page. I have to agree with other members to get rid of the pop up.
