PS7 review - 5/8/2002 16:30:19
Hello everyone!

Well I've had Photoshop 7 for about a week now and I just thought I'd let ya all know how it was working (cause I know how concerned each and everyone of you were!

The upgrade installed just fine. No problems here.

Working in it though it seems to be crashing my computer quite a bit. Especially when switching over to ImageReady 7. I'm running a 800 Mghz Celeron w/ 1 GB of RAM so I'm pretty sure its not my box causing it. ~~shrugs~~ Mabey a update will come out soon to help me out.

Other than that I gotta tell you I am loving the new features. I already don't know what I ever did without the new file browser. It lets me preview the images in a folder from PS. I can select multiple images, rotate them before I open, and rate them by importance. Very cool Stuff!

The new healing brush is a god send. It works alot like the clone tool, but instead of copying the colors from an area to transfer to another it just copies the texture. It also has a new Patch tool, which lets you do the same thing over a large area. This makes touching up images sssssoooo much easier! Its like an instant blend.

It is taking time getting used to the new rollover menu but I think I am going to like it better too. Speaking of the rollover dialoge box, Adobe has been so kind as to add a new rollover state, Selected. This is what is displayed when a hyperlink has been selected. How cool is that?!

Overall, I wish it was more stable but this upgrade is a must have for PS lovers.

Have fun, Peace and Hairgrease,
Scott

I am so jealous.

I ordered my PS7 upgrade about 3-4 weeks ago from Adobe and I still do not have it! I can't wait to get it and start using all the new stuff!

I had the crashing problem too and decided it was to do with the PSP/Microsoft relationship. I have found that as long as I start PSP first everything will work fine.

How different is it from PS6? Do you think its worth the upgrade - a must have?
