Video in Front Page?? - 9/22/2001 15:58:00
Hi, I am using Front Page 2000. I want to put in a video to stream from my website. And I want to media player to show in the page. When I insert a video, I just get a little "X" there. It plays in the preview mode, but no controls. If I choose "Insert ActiveX componet" then choose Windows Media Player, I get the player, but how do I tell it what video to play? I have looked at the ActiveX control properties, but not sure where. Would appreciate either an answer or perhaps someone can point me to a tutorial on the web. I have looked at Microsoft, and as usual, found so much info but none pertaining to what I want! Thanks. Pam

Did you go to File > Import > Add "The Video?" That will bring the file into your site folder so that you can link to it from the Active X dialog box. Files outside your site folder won't link right. Beyond that I have no experience with active x and video plugins. I have audio and just let the visitors default player handle that. Most folks browsers have the player plugins, and you can link to plugins like Quick time, Real Player, and the like. [This message has been edited by Dayvud (edited 09-24-2001).]
