Dropping /html tag - 4/11/2001 14:11:00
Recently started using FP to edit my pages. The program has removed all my /html tags making it impossible for some of my users using older Netscape browser version from viewing text on my pages. When I try to add the /html tag in using the html view FP deletes it again when I save. HELP!!!!!!

Been there. Unfortunately, the only fix I could find was to rebuild the page from scratch.

I sincerely hope someone comes along who has a better answer!!!

You didn't specify, but I assume this is FP98? Try using the <pre></pre> tag. This should prevent FP tampering with the code.

Using FP2000. Pre & /pre tags appear to work to fix the files I wrote from scratch and imported, but is not working on pages I subsequently created using FP. About ready to say h*** with it and go back to writing the html

jeeff, if you can build one page that works properly, then you can use it kind of like a template for the others.

File > Save As....then rename and give it a new file name > Save. The original page is left intact. Copy and paste the content from the "broken" pages into the new pages.
