Dividing or Inserting - 5/17/2002 9:51:48
What is the difference between dividing a cell or inserting new rows or columns? They seem similar in many ways. Is there a "best" time to use one or the other?

Thanks, gail

Hi, Gail -

They are very similar, but insert will allow you to choose the placement of the new cells, which is great if you already have content in the existing cells.

Create a new table and by playing around with it you'll be able to see how it reacts differently to insert > column/row/cell or split. If one way doesn't give you the results you were after, try the other.

Linda,

Believe it or not, I just recently tried the insert command. I used to be frustrated that whenever I wanted to divide a insert a cell, etc. it went where FrontPage wanted not where I intended it to go.

This is great! Thanks!
