MarYo -> Site critique + ehmm... Meta Tag check (5/21/2002 0:16:16)

Hi all.
One week ago I've launched my site. Apparently it look fine, but since I'm not a Html guru, I prefer to ask the Pro's.
Critique and suggestion welcomed!!!
About the MetaTag, can someone of us check if all is ok ?

Thanks in advance to all of you.

Mario

Hello MarYo,
I looked at your site with a 56k connection using IE5 in a 800x600 setting. The layout looked great. Nice, Neat and Crisp. Navigation was easy to follow as well. The only 2 things I would consider in my opinion would be as follows:

1. On some of the longer pages like the Red and Blue Mars Pages. I think text navigation links at the bottom of the page would be helpful to the visitor that scrolls somewhere towards the bottom. Wouldn't hurt to put them on all pages so that your consistent.

2. I know your still working on the FAQ page. But I would consider not making it a link until you have something on there. Maybe you can put a few answers to popular questions concerning your information and mention MORE COMING SOON just so that the user doesn't go to the dreadful "under construction" area.

Just my opinion. But other than those that I mentioned which are preferences. I think the site is VERY TASTEFULLY DONE.

SWOOOOOOOSH

Scotty -> RE: Site critique + ehmm... Meta Tag check (5/21/2002 1:11:41)

Consensus seems to be that the first three Meta tags in the <head> section should be <Title>
<Description>
<Keywords>
in that order.
In keywords, I lean more toward keyword phrases. The keyword map is going to bring lots of people who were looking for road maps, where "maps of mars" or some such will pull in fewer folks, but they'll have a higher interest in your site.
I use "Good Keywords" by Softik technologies to help with defining keywords.
Yikes! 10pm I'm outta here. Regards, Scotty
