FP Extensions not working - 5/23/2002 16:51:30
Can anybody tell me things to check for, when the server extensions aren't working?
My url is www.meyershomes.com
If you go to http://www.meyershomes.com/ContactMe.htm
you will see the text "Front page save results component".
About the same time that it stopped working, I went over my allowed disk space. I have that fixed now, but could that have anything to do with this problem?
I asked my host about this. He told me that I needed to rename all of my files so that there were no spaces and/or special characters. I did that, and it still isn't working.
So, he told me that I might just need to delete the site from the server and republish. I did that, and it didn't help.
I'm sure that I should be telling you all more information in order for you to help me, but I just can't think of anything else to tell you at the moment.

I'm going to try to recreate the form. I'll let you know what the problem is, when I figure it out.
BTW - Those e-mail addresses are correct. One is my e-mail and the other is the e-mail to a pager.

I am still struggling with this. I thought I would tell you something else that I noticed. When you actually submit the form, it give you an error message that says:
Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: "http://www.meyershomes.com/ContactMe.htm"
Also, I just tried to create a simple little form on a new page to test things out:
http://www.meyershomes.com/test.htm
I am having the same trouble with this form.
I am going to keep playing with it, but I thought that a little more info might help.

see if the host will re-install the extensions? If a new form doesn't work then something is not right there... From your end you can try recalculate hyperlinks from the tools menu, you never know....

I'm a little late to this thread.
"FrontPage saved results component" errors are one thing only, and that's corrupted extensions and there's only one fix.
No matter what the host says about extensions being installed, they are still corrupted when you get that message. Either do this yourself through your control panel (Apache/Linux) or tell your host admin to do it (Microsoft server); delete the extensions, close out the control panel/server control board, and then close FrontPage for no less than 5 minutes. Then, go back in and re-intall extensions. This is the only fix for what you are experiencing.
Going over your allowed disk space has no bearing on FP extensions.
This shouold fix your problem.

Tip- After creating that masterpiece form that you work on for hours, make a second copy of it!. A copy works just as well as the original. If anything ever happens to the OG, just rename it and you're back in business
