Charles W Davis -> Where should I start! (5/30/2002 20:01:41)

I have taken over the maintainence and revision of a web site.

It is a bit lacking. So I would appreciate some comments as the sequence of steps that you would take to improve the site.

I have my opinions, but would like them confirmed.

The URL you ask? Here it is: http://www.stevenfrankelmd.com

Thank you all!

Well, "I" would start by finding a color combination that is some what less obnoxious and removing the hit counter.

Charles,

  • I don't care for the image map navigational menu that is being used
  • I got a major horizontal scroll bar on just about every page in 800x600
  • The awful "One Line Text Box" used for the comment section in the form
  • I agree with with Gil, New color scheme and eliminate the hit counter

Just My opinions which I am sure you already had a few of them written down as your own.

EWD -> RE: Where should I start! (5/30/2002 22:43:40)

I would go for a toned down and more professional looking navigation. It was way to distracting to read anything. Also ther side nav was missing on the articles page, but I thought that was a blessing!

Good Luck with it!

To all,

Thanks bunches. You confirmed all of my suspicions. John40004, I appreciated the timings. I have a 1.5 MB broadband connection.

One note though, the image sizes
quote:
(b) Book image 27.3 MB and Nav Bar 45.0 MB
are 27.3 KB and 45.0 KB respectively.

Thanks again everyone. Now to get busy and figure how to implement Vince's Menu stuff!

Enjoy! It's your endeavor!

Hi Charles,
Only excuse is that it was a long day for me which had only started At the stated image sizes and my connection speed, I'd sill be waiting for the site to load.

You have me worried now - I was working on the 2003 through 2007 Profit Plans. I think I better go double-check my cashflow
