using fp97 disk as proof for fp2000 upgrade - 5/30/2002 22:00:53
I am selling my fp2000 upgrade license along with a fp97 disk that I'm including so when they go to install fp2000 they will have "proof" disk to continue the fp2000 installation. 1) Is the key for 97 required TOO? (I lost my key and don't want to pay $10 for a new one). I don't think so, but I want to make sure before promising to the new buyer. 2) What happens if the 97 disk goes bad? Will MS believe the new buyer that they really had one, and send them a new one (especially since they won't be able to provide a 97 key). I want to be totally upfront and be sure the buyer gets what I'm promising, but I want to make sure I'm not unfairly advantaged, as I really honestly bought both 97 and 2000 - I just can't find the key for 97 anymore. Thanks! Jim

Hi, 1) Just the CD is needed for FP97 verification, not the key. 2) If the disk were to go bad, which did happen to me (dog chewed on it, really!). I called MS FP support line. They had me xerox the label side of the disk. They then had me fax it to them. I paid shipping and got a new CD. Brian Work hard, play fair, stay sane
