What's the page or file size limit of FP web? - 6/4/2002 20:09:18
Is there a known limit to a FrontPage web, either in number of pages/files or any other measure (file size, etc.)? I've got a really big project, in terms of total pages, and was wondering what issues might arise as the size increases. I realize a database driven site might eliminate this issue, but putting that logical alternative aside, could I run to say 10,000 pages? See http://www.BusinessDirectory.com for a hint regarding what I'm contemplating.

Hi,
Page count is not a concern with FP, it will take longer to "process web updates" though and the initial file check when uploading. You could snap/break/make subwebs to get around this if on a slow connection.
Also, just an aside, you mentioned using a DB possibly. Make sure to stay away from Access if you think the site might get more than 20 concurrent connections to the DB as it starts to degrade at this level.
