Dump old web-Create New? - 4/12/2001 20:22:00
Hello
I am going round and round tying to know exactly what to do. The current website that I have is in a state of distress. I have been building it in an ongoing process since FP 97. I want to redo it but am not sure how to go about it. I want to use most of my old file names as those are on the search engins. If I put a sub web on my sited and build it there will it be currupted by the old site or will it be fresh. THen when I get it done can I just rename the Sub web to my current web site?
I have tried to rename folders in my current website and it would not let me do it. FP says it may damage some of my files if I do it. It didn't just up date links like I thought it was supposed to do. Soooo I didn't know if I could rename a sub web with out loosing it. I work direct with my sit. I am in the process of adding a new Dansi shopping cart with data base to the new site so I will not need all the pages I have now.
THanks so much for being patient with my basic questions.

MurielTry downloading the site to your harddrive through FP, then you can make page changes without changing file/page names. Re-publish and, voila!
