Rich Text to HTML not same? - 6/15/2002 0:31:24
I have a 110 page manuscript that I typed with pictures in a word program called Atlantis. It is in Rich Text just the way I want it. I transfered it to Front Page in order to get it into HTML code and it came out with pictures OK but the type is in a small column down the middle. How do I fix?

You will have quite a job to fix it. I doubt you can. There is little in the way of common ground between rich text and HTML.

One is a program for creating print documents, the other for creating HTML pages. They are chalk and cheese. Even if you do get something remotely like the original in a cut and paste the code will be utterly horrible and the page load appalling.

When moving stuff from a Word Processor type application to the web using FP the usual recommendation is to cut and paste into notepad and from there to FP, though of course you then lose all your formatting.

Since you have so many pages that reformatting them as HTML would be a real pain I think your best option will be using something like a PDF file to display them, or making them available as a download.

Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
