Precise location linking to another page - 6/15/2002 9:59:19

I know how to insert bookmarks within a page. But how do you create a bookmark or link that not only brings you to another page in a web, but to a precise location on that other page?

Thanks, gail

The trick in FrontPage is to have both pages open when you make the link on the source page. All the bookmarks on the destination page will be visible when you make a link on the source page, providing the destination page is open in FP. The syntax is:
<a href="destinationPage.htm#bookmarkName">Ipsum</a>

Can't get it to work.

I have two pages open: Index (source) and Links (destination which contains a bookmark entitled "cspan).

I placed a link on the Index page; then in html view I dropped in this code:

<a href="links.htm#cspan">cspan>Ipsum</a>

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, gail

Try: <a HREF="http://www.domain.com/links.html#cspan"</a>
