Wondering if you could look at my web design site and let me know what you think of the layout:

Thanks!

What is the purpose of the "splash" page? Why make a visitor click on a basicly blank page? Then opening the actual site in a new window is really annoying. The black on blue was too hard to read, sorry.

Manda,

Layout is fine, although the New Window upon entering just seems odd. I think you need another color to offset all of the blue within your site.

mandalynnpro,

The others have made note of the two most offending items, black on blue and Splash.

However, the layout works in IE 6.
One must scroll a long way after getting past the opening splash. I would advise doing a bit of spell checking, i.e., "just re-modling your site,"

Include some navigation at the bottom of the pages.

With the wide banner, the balance of the page is unnecessarily narrow.

In the tables containing text, I would include some cell padding to keep the text away from the dard blue left border and off of the dark blue vertical dashed line at the right border.

When viewing with the Opera 6.0 browser, the welcome page totally falls apart as if the page is a two column situation. The Services header is alongside the Welcome header, but only about 1/3 as wide.

This is also true in NN 6.2.

Whoa! When I returned to the site using IE 6, the breakdown of the welcome page is the same.

For an image of what I see:

Hi Manda,
I'll echo the comments as to the entry page with one additional note - the "Manda Lynn Productions" jpg, at 125 Kb, really slows the loading of pages. I noticed you used it on several pages. I'm connected at 28.8 on a 56K modem. There are many of us out there and, were it not for the fact I was checking your site, I would have left.

Also, the blue-on-blue is hard to read. I even put my glasses on .

Hi Manda,

I agree with the others about the splash page (I prefer a quick flash page), and about the color. I prefer not to have to scroll so much. Why not have a nav bar with multiple pages instead of putting everything on one page. Good Luck!

Hi Manda,
Checked out your website, and I would
suggest you change your black font to
white or silver; also the PATCH ENTRY
is UNATTRACTIVE gives a negative message,
change it possibly to a simple animation,
or even a star type entry.

Your original artwork is interesting, but
needs more DEPTH like SHADOWS and/or make
it more like a PERSPECTIVE --

On your second page, you have no MARGINS,
it doesn't look to good to have your
sentences begin right at the line --
indent content at least 5 spaces at
beginning, and 5 spaces at end.

I read some of the other comments, and
don't know what they are talking about
concerning a SPLASH PAGE, maybe I didn't
go far enough into your website, I checked
most pages -- but, you should do more
SHOW & tell -- most people not in the
business have no idea what a SPLASH page
is. Demonstrate some of your services
with examples.

Good luck with your new business.

Beebizy,

The splash page was the 1st page you got that said Click To Enter Site.

I agree with Gil on it. I saw no point to it.

Erin
