Successfully did my first form (it actually WORKS!!whoooaaaah!) And after 2 visits to control panel and one help desk ticket...I got my password protected directory. And now I'm thinking Spooky Login would probably work better. I don't know how many pages will have to eventually be tucked safely away. "You will find a directory called password file at the same level as html. Inside there will be a file called whatucalledit.txt, which is your password file. Enter the username:password combinations...one per line" Okey dokey...I need 150+ lines last time I checked. "Remember the directory is now protected. You will be unable to edit anything in this directory with FrontPage. Feel free to knock your socks off with FTP" Alrighty then....and phhhhhhtttttttp!!!!!! username:password combinations have already been determined by the bigwigs. So..I went to edit the file and of course..hehe..it won't save on the server. Is the answer to this..download to client, modify, and FTP the file back to the directory? I can see the error messages now... and..if you can't edit with FP, is it a given you can't publish pages to the directory with FP? Hit me with your best shot...I know this is no-brainer stuff to most of you,,but I am entering the alien zone. Server is Win2000. Spooky.the Gold Card is warming up..... There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I can do this but it is not without multiple password dialogs which seem to have no ryhthm or reason... As far as the Spooky login, your password list is already pretty big and maintenance is going to be a headache without some form of management. Remember, it is good password policy to change them regularly, and always after an employee leaves. People forget passwords, people forget about caps lock, people give out the passwords, isn't the Spooky log-in fairly inexpensive. You've got the right server.... Always glad to be of service.
