VBMedia -> Pick it apart. (7/4/2002 23:44:01)

Hi again, guys.

Been a while. Firstly, love the new forum! Very nice!

Onto more pressing matters.

We' ve redesigned our site based on client feedback, now it' s time to cast the net of critique a bit further afield.

So feel free, pick it apart. All constructive criticism is welcomed and in fact, damned helpful! Anything you can think of to make things easier for the visitor - I' m really interested!

Should be more or less the same in IE and Netscape 4.x and above. Not tested it on a MAC so I have no idea...

Thanks in advance...

Maz

Site looks very nice - I am a fan of simplicity - All links worked, and engines worked - checked at 024X768 and 800X600, NN4, NN6, IE6 all showed same results -

One problem you may want to correct though - optimization is spelled wrong - I had to double check.
Great Site and good luck

Remember, I' m in the UK - it' s optimisation. We sold our Z' s to the French in the great 1712 Alphabet War I think?

Many thanks for taking the time to check and feedback. Really appreciated.

M.

Very clean, easy to navigate. The information was presented well. The only thing I found that didn' t work was the link to racefairings.com on your portfolio page.

Nice site.

Many thanks, Mike.

Your time is much appreciated. I' ll look into the dead link.

Hi,

When viewing on a 21 inch monitor, 1024x768 with IE 6, NN 6.2 and Opera 6.03 the header, text and footer expand to 100% on all pages.

  • Search and Admin pages: text and top navigation tabs also expanded to 100%
  • On all other pages the text and nav tabs were fixed width.

Easy navigation, I like it! Good muted, complimentary colors.

I´d like to tell you a few improvements you could make......but I can´t!!!
One one the best efforts in this forum for a long time. Congrats!

That is by design. I' m just not a fan of pages that seem to cut off abrubtly mid-way across the screen. I think they need some continuity across the width. (Incidentally, it was designed on a 21" monitor.)

It also allows us to use the right hand side for extra features that we have planned over the coming weeks.

I hear what you are saying about the widths on the Search and Admin pages however. That is because they were installled before the final design really hit me in it' s final look and feel. I' m going to have to code backwards and make them the same I think.

Many thanks for your critique. Much appreciated!

Many thanks! [:)]

I think the reason that we got it right this time was because it really is 90% based on feedback from people who use the site and from people such as yourselves. (The other 10% being my own little whimsical angles.) There' s nothing like feedback to spot the things that you just don' t think about throughout the design process. Try as ya might.

Thanks for the feedback...

My pleasure! ....... actually I´ve just looked again and spotted something!
The title at the top of your text on the home page is too " fuzzy" (aliased) as large text. I would do it exactly the same but as text on a graphic.
