Richard Sterling -> Includes and bookmarks? (4/13/2001 20:04:00)

Im using a lot of includes pages now and was wondering if there is a way to target a bookmark withing an includes page.

For instance on my programs schecdule page http://www.kwpnfm.com/schedule.htm I would like to be able to click on a particular program like Today In The Arts and have it go to the Other Programs page http://www.kwpnfm.com/others.htm and have Today In The Arts come to the top of the page.

I know if it's possible it would have to be hand coded some how, but I am seriously html challenged.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Rich

You do not need to hand code it.

Have both pages open in FP.

In the Other Programs page create your bookmark in the normal way. On the Program Schedules page highlight your text, right click, create hyperlink and add the Other Programs page as the link. Then in the drop down box called Bookmark, just below where you enter the url to the page, you will find a list of the bookmarks on the page you are linking to. Select the opne you want.

The target page must be open for this to work.

Don't see why not - it is typical to use an include page for navigation links and I don't see why you can't use it for a bookmark.

Create your bookmark in the target page, save it and leave this page open.

In the include page, highlight the word or phrase, create hyperlink, select the target page then from the bookmark drop down select your bookmark. Save your page.

Open the calling page and test the link - hopefully this should work okay.

PS Someone else posted just before me - with the same answer - two for the price of one!

Ever have one of those days where you just feel dumb?

My mistake was trying to link from an included section instead of going to that includes "page" to make the link. That and the eventual destination was another includes page, where the contend didn't really need to be an include in the first place.

Thanks for the help and TGIF!
