FP data base, who supports it??? And other ??? - 3/2/2001 20:34:00
Frontpage wizards,

I have problem, my site is hosted at what was Simpletnet.com and now is Yahoo Websites. I want to use the Data Base option in FP but it's greyed out and says the server I'm using doesn't support it. Contacted the Yahoo and was told it wasn't supported.....

What I'm looking to do it have a on-line form populate a data base for catalog order's and customer info request. That way I can print the shipping labels from the data base without having to cut ans paste them form the emails the form does now.

So, should I change to a server that supports data base, and if so whats a good hosting company.

Or can this be done without database support?

Thanks!!

The problem will probably be 2 fold, it wont support asp / vbscript, which is the language FP uses to get the database, secondly, apache servers wont support Access.

There are other options on Unix such as using mySQL, but none of the FP features can be used at all, and manual coding is required.
