NMH -> Importing Access to FrontPage (3/1/2001 18:05:00)

I am trying to have an interactive form on my webpage using Access2000. I have imported the database into FP and verified the connection. The database is stored in the "fpdb" folder as recommended. The global. asa file was created.

Uploaded the files into my website using WS_FTP. When I visited the website the first time, all was well. The form allowed my to add a piece of data which was faithfully recorded into the connected Access table. Closed out the visit. Then on the second visit, the form came up but the message said that it was all in "read-only and no changes/additions could be made". I noticed that the database name had a [1] after the name. It was "name.mdb[1]". On opening up a third time, same thing only the db showed "name.mdb[2].

Why is this happening? Any help to get me over the hurdle will be most appreciated.

Thank you. NMH

This again is db question. I'm moving it to the db forum.

This has happened to me before and I think I have associated the problem with FTP'ing. I find it is best to use the publish web feature in FP2K as it will create the necessary folder/files/database connections. I am not saying it can not be done via FTP but once I used the publish web feature it seemed to eliminate my prblems.
