Can I set my own subwebs - 8/3/2002 14:13:56
My hosts say that setting an NT user name and password on a sub web needs a manual entry by them. However, when I open the web FP2002 on the server and enter the FP Permissions area, it states that I have admin rights, in fact it looks the same rights as my hosts have. Therefore, can I add an NT user name (is this the same thing) to make a sub web, that will have a different UN & PW to the main web site. I.e. is it true saying it needs a manual entry or is this just an excuse to try and charge me! they have glossed over verbally that if I made an entry in the permissions it would appear to accept it but it would not work in practice Thanks

I have no idea who your host is, but the " norm" for NT/W2K hosting is the server admin has to add users. On a Linux/Unix server a user can normally add users on their own.

confirm that. even though it looks like you can create the account it will not be accessible by a new user.
