Hello world, I have created my first website ever, I would appreciate any feedback that could make it look more professional.

www.fuelbelt.com.au

Thanks

Not a bad first effort! A quick look suggests to me a few things.
FP hover buttons look good but don´t work on some browsers (or so I´m told!) so using Javascript hover buttons is better. I know that may sound a bit advanced for someone just starting but it is relatively easy to do and a search on this site will give you some advise on how to do it. (I would explain now but I have to dash!)
The first page has a photo at the bottom which looks like an afterthought. If you use the picture positioning feature in FP, you can bring the pic to the top and wrap the text round it. (Try the help files)

Good Luck with your designing!

Thanks for the feedback, I will have a look into the Javascript hover buttons. Also, good point about the picture!

Hi Rhys,
Welcome to the Forum :)

I looked at your site with IE 6.0, resolution at 800 X 600 and connection at 28.8 on 56K. I' m not a professional website developer.

(1) All pages loaded fast based on my connection speed, but you may save some more time by resizing your images.

(2) http://www.fuelbelt.com.au/NewProducts.htm
Were prices left off intentionally? Also, the page would look better if the images were centered on the page. Just a personal opinion, but the flashing " Coming Soon" seemed to distract from the page. If the information is not yet available, why broadcast that to the visitor?

(3) http://www.fuelbelt.com.au/Storelocatormap.htm
There weren' t that many locations and clicking on some maps gave a " Coming Soon" response. Have you considered: (a) one page listing all locations until the product grows in distribution or (b) not listing a " Coming Soon" response which just requires the visitor to close a dead-end page?

(4) http://www.fuelbelt.com.au/RetailCentre.htm
" Coming Soon" - same as above.

(5) http://www.fuelbelt.com.au/TeamFuelBelt.htm
Same as above.

(6) http://www.fuelbelt.com.au/Customer%20Service.htm
As a suggestion, 30+ years in business and customer service, try to be more positive in your wording. Instead of: " For some of our customers, the FuelBelt ordered may not be the perfect size. If you ordered a belt that needs to be exchanged for a different size, simply send your existing belt back to us with a brief note advising us of the correct size that you require and confirming the address to which you want us to send the new FuelBelt" why not consider something like: " We constantly strive to meet the satisfaction of our customers. If, for any reason, the FuelBelt does not meet your expectations -etc." Wording of this type would give a more positive impression, as opposed to leaving an impression in the visitor' s mind that they may get the wrong size belt.

I enjoyed the site, especially the fast loads :)

John

P.S.
I almost forgot. It may not be within your ability to correct, but if incorrect belt sizes are a serious enough issue to mention, the company may want to consider correcting the problem - as opposed to re-acting to it.
