ChrisChris -> Why no hyperlinks in a Table??? (4/14/2001 18:55:00)

I was wondring if anyone might be able to help.

If I type my homepage as follows in front page:

htpp://www.massbird.org/noho

it "becomes a clickable hyperlink" automatically. This is fine.

However, if I have the same text in a database which is then dumped into a table, i see the following:

http://www.massbird.org/noho

but it isn't automatically changed into a hyperlink. I would like it to be a hyperlink, but I am having trouble finding a setting to make it automatically become a hyperlink. Any help is most appreciative because it will save me a LOT of time!!

I put hyperlinks in a database using html. Then be sure to check the box that says contains html

hi Shirley:

I am using Access. I clicked on the link in the field that makes that field a hyperlink. It works fine in Access. However in Front Page when I make a DBR asking for the hyperlinks in the database to be displayed, the hyperlink is not there, just the text. I'm trying to get an active hyperlink and it isn't happening. It just has the text http://nameofhyperlink.com

and is not hyperlinkable.

i was thinking that there was a setting in tables keeping the hyperlinks in the table from working, but am having trouble with it.

Thanks again

ChrisChris

After you have your drw right click on the field that has the hyperlink and choose field value (I think that is what it is called) and check contains html.

When you put the link into access
use html <a href="link">somethingherer</a>

Hi Shirley:

OK, thanks, I got it to work.

I put the following code in the form field as a preset to make it easier for me:

<a href=" "> name </a>

Thanks! You've been most helpful. You saved me a lot of time! Thanks a million.
