Searching multiple fields with 1 input box? possible? - 3/7/2001 19:51:00
Hello, I would like to search multiple fields in a database, but would only like to have 1 text box instead of 2. For example, I have a database of first and last names. But in the text box, I want the user to be able to type the first OR last name and have the results displayed. I have it working fine with just the last name. Is there a way to change the code to do this? Thanks!

Hi, check out step 3 of the DRW "More options"www.outfront.net/spooky/step3.htm Here you set up your criteria. You would specify your text box name as the criteria 'value' for both field names ------------------ Spooky "I am Spooky of Borg. Prepare to be assimilated, babycakes!" You lost me spooky...Would I be creating more than 1 criteria entry? If I do that would it still make 2 entry boxes when I only want one? Thanks!

I got it Spooky! I looked at the code, I forgot that I had to go back and add the '%::Name::%', it was just putting in 'Name' and thats why it didnt work the first time, I was searching a text field...Thanks again for all your help in the past and in the future!
