Problems Using Database Results Wizard - 3/11/2001 20:09:00
I have a system DSN connection and I was able to create a working ASP table from the fpnwind.mdb database. My problem is that teh database is verified, but I receive an erro message when I enter page 2 of the wizard. The error is a database connection error Server error: Unable to retrieve the list of record sources from a database using the connection string:DSN=colluvial;DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}. The following error message comes from the database driver software; it may appear in a different language depending on how the driver is configured. Source: ADO Number: -2146824584 (0x800a0e78) when I look at Microsoft's site, they suggest the sever may not be using the most uptodate extensions. Has anyone had this type of problem? I don't wat to badger my host if the problem is mine. goto www.colluvial.com to see what works and take my word for the error.

Can you just cover that again Fred? You have a page that IS working on that connection and one that isnt? What does the first page do? or do you mean page 1 of the wizard? Have you tried importing the database to your web and letting FP handle the connection with out resorting to a system DSN? ------------------ Spooky "I am Spooky of Borg. Ok, to reiterate. I have a system DSN connection that is on a separate directory called "database" as required by my host company. I originally created the results script on my local computer, then uploaded everything to the server. Now, the database connection verifies, and the data populates my two asp pages. However, I cannot get the results wizard to create a new result onto my page. You know, in case I want to change exactly what fields are displayed. That is when I get the error. I did try making the connection without the system DSN too, and it will not work. My server host www.readyhosting.com recommends using the system DSN. They won't help me too much with this because they see it as my problem more than theirs.

So the uploaded asp pages work. When verifying the connection, your web is open "live"Somethings not quite right if this is the case, as obviouly the DSN is working for 2 of 3 pages.
