kpott77 -> Spooky Login Problem (3/13/2001 16:39:00)

I currently use the Spooky login at my site in a subweb. I need to use it in another part of the site (in another subweb). I'm using a new database, new login.asp page, etc. in the new subweb. However, I am having problems. I believe I have everything set up correctly (since I have done it all before). But when I try to view the login.asp or register.asp page in the browser, I get an error: HTTP 500 internal server error. Any idea what the problem may be?

Hi there . . .

I get this error message . . .

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'

Include file not found

/virtualride/login.asp, line 4

The include file 'includes/emailcomponent.asp' was not found

. . . which probably gives you a bit more of a clue as to what the actual problem is

Have you got this set? In IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced Tab -> Browsing Section -> Show friendly HTTP Error messages. You do not really want to have this set if you are doing development work as you get useless error messages.

All the best

Vince

I did have the "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages" option checked. Once I unchecked that I was able to figure out the problem (somehow on the db_conn.asp file, an extra apostrophe was inserted--don't you just love practically invisible typos?). Thanks for your help!
