calling images from a database - 3/15/2001 20:46:00
I am trying to use Front Page to retrieve an image from a database. I can create the search form to return the record and I have added the image to the table using link (not embed) I have stored the images in a directory called "Pictures" in the ftpd directory of the web. I tried using parameters to insert the images but all I get in the image cell is the dreaded red "x" The rest of the record appears. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks for the reply. I went through your tutorial earlier and I still can't make it work. Perhaps I am misuderstanding some things. Here are some questions if you have the time.
1. I use the link feature to include photos in my database, is that right?
2. Must I do this on the web server or can I create the link in a database on my desktop and then import the database into Frontpage? If I do this, where do the linked images go. They don't seem to be imported along with the database.

I have tried doing this both ways and I still get the same red x.

Thanks for any time you have to answer this. Can you recommend a book that covers this stuff? Database connectivity is covered only briefly in most of the frontpage books I have looked at.

I THINK the red x just means the path is bad.

youll need to ensure the images are on the server and the correct path is used!
