Error message connecting to Database - 8/18/2002 10:02:44
I get the following error when trying to connect to an Access database on a Domain controller running windows NT server from my web server (member of the domain) running windows 2000 server with IIS using ODBC:

Database Results Error
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ' (unknown)' . It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

I think that this may be a folder permissions problem. I checked on my NT server and the IUSR account that is used for annonymous acces to the web site does not exist. It will not let me pick it up from the web server.
I have tried adding a new account to the NT server with the same permissions etc as the one on the web server but I still get the same error.

Can anyone help as I am pulling out what little hair I have left.

Many thanks:)

Thanks for the reply.
I have read your file and this is similar to a Microsoft knowledge base article on the same topic.
The problem I seem to have is that I am unable to add the IUSR account from my web server to my domain controller where the shared database sits.
I have tried to create a new IUSR account on the domain controller in the hope that this would let web users authenticate with it.
Unfortunately this has not worked.

I presume that it is possible to point an ASP page to an NT server other than the web server it is hosted on?
