peteramorrow -> Frontpage Search Results (3/18/2001 20:18:00)

On my website I can not get rid of the following message :
[FrontPage Save Results Component]

On several occasions I have deleted the relevant tag but it reappears after I save the page.
How do I stop this appearing, my website address is :
www.resortski.net

Thankyou

I think you need to make sure that your FP extensions are installed correctly. Someone else had this problem and they had their host reinstall and all worked well.

Thankyou for the reply
However the "frontpage search components" message appears after every web save on my hard drive as well.

You dont have frontpage extensions on that web, it will occur too if using a disk based web locally.

If you beleive your host does have FPX then call them to reinstall.

But, but, but how to rectify the problem of the FPSRC message appearing on one's hardrive. I'm all of a sudden having this problem - has nothing to do with publishing. The error message shows up if i simply create a form and save it, then reopen.

I know it' related to having the form results sent via e-mail cuz when I remove this the form works like a charm. I see how to configure extensions on my own computer, but I don't think I want to do that since I'm publishing webs for multiple sites to be sent to all different e-mail addresses.

Help!

TIA

Bruce

OK. I was confused as to why it showed up on my hard drive but I now
understand that's because my hard drive doesn't have FP extentions
configured or whatever. I also understand this problem should go away once
published if the ISP has the FP extensions properly configured. Finally, I
now also understand that the form-to-email portion requires that the web
server have SMTP (simple mail transport protocol) set up correctly (this is
not done automatic, and is separate from the extension installation).
Repeat: SMTP set up is separate from the extension installation.

Can you tell I've been reading again...?

Much appreciated !!

Bruce.
