Linkinf from a subweb - 4/16/2001 20:59:00
OK, yes, another subweb question... sorry I am not able to link to a page in the parent web when I am working in the subweb. Am I doing something painfully stupid here or what? I tried to navigate (while setting the hyperlink)to the page on the parent web by using the "Make a hyperlink to a file on your computer" button but it does just that, it makes a link to a file on my computer (imagine that) rather than simply to the page in the parent web. I know it is going to be something embarassingly simple, but I'm burning the midnight oil tonight and more than just the lights are dim here , if ya get my meaning. Again, any help you can throw my way, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks DNG I wish it would allow me to edit the title of the post... LOL .... linkinf... lol [This message has been edited by Da New Guy (edited 04-16-2001).]

When you create the link, create it using the entire URL. When you create the link going into the subweb, you can use code:
<a href="folder/page.htm">LINK TEXT</a>
However, when you are coming back out of that folder, it is much safer to use the entire URL. code:
<a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/page.htm">LINK TEXT</a>
In the hyperlink dialog box, type the full URL to the page.
