Linkinf from a subweb - 4/16/2001 20:59:00
OK, yes, another subweb question... sorry I am not able to link to a page in the parent web when I am working in the subweb. Am I doing something painfully stupid here or what? I tried to navigate (while setting the hyperlink)to the page on the parent web by using the "Make a hyperlink to a file on your computer" button but it does just that, it makes a link to a file on my computer (imagine that) rather than simply to the page in the parent web.
I know it is going to be something embarassingly simple, but I'm burning the midnight oil tonight and more than just the lights are dim here , if ya get my meaning.
Again, any help you can throw my way, will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
DNG
I wish it would allow me to edit the title of the post... LOL .... linkinf... lol

When you create the link, create it using the entire URL.
When you create the link going into the subweb, you can use
code:
<a href="folder/page.htm">LINK TEXT</a>

However, when you are coming back out of that folder, it is much safer to use the entire URL.

code:
<a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/page.htm">LINK TEXT</a>

In the hyperlink dialog box, type the full URL to the page.
