Database deleting itself? - 3/20/2001 23:42:00
:eek If it's not one thing it sure is another.... Occasionally when I am working in the database on my web it seems to loose all information when I am closing it. Why does this happen and how can I prevent it from happening? Luckily my web isn't up for public viewing yet or I may have lost customer information!!!

Well I had opened up the db to check to see if something had posted or not cause I wasn't getting a confirmation page. The object had actually posted. Anyway when I closed it out it somehow deleted itself. The database was still there. IF you right click on it and check properties though it had 0 bytes. It was empty and was unable to even open it. I hadn't changed anything. Just looked at it. I access my web directly with Front Page 2000 It points directly to my website and I edit it from there.

There were no warnings? what happens is a copy is downloadd and you edit it locally, then it gest uploaded when finished. What I do is open 2 FP windows, 1 local one live. Drag a copy to the local window and check it there. If you wish, then you can copy / drag it back. Possibly something failed doing it your way
