Redirect out of a No records Returned default - 3/27/2001 17:19:00
A very good tip was posted here in the last couple of weeks, but I can't find the thread. In any case, teh tip was to substitue a redirect meta tag in place of your "No Records Returned" default. I did that and it does work.

Here's the question. The redirect is very SSSSLLLLOOOOWWWW. I tried to move the meta tag higher up in the page, but as it is part of the database code, it really has to stay somewhat in the middle.

Is there any way to speed the redirect up. I mean, the page opens for about 2 seconds, THEN redirects. It looks funky.

What code did you use?

Im actually surprised a meta refresh will work outside of headers. Im not sure if all browsers will recognise it if thats the case?

Geesh...I hope you're wrong about this one!

fp_sNoRecords="<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0; URL=/signupform_2.asp'>"

Well, I checked on Netscape 4.7 and it does work. But I guess the original question still remains. Is there any way to speed it up?

I would assume theres no speed, as all of the database records would still get returned (or at least processed) before that comment is hit

So it will be no faster than if you did an ordinary page that returned no records I think ?
